My happy place

For me, two words hold a special place in my heart: forever and memory.
Every second that passes becomes a memory. Some moments are ordinary while we live through them, yet years later, we realise how precious they were. Sometimes, it is a place, a person, a familiar voice, a piece of music, or even a simple object that takes us back to a time when our hearts felt full. We find ourselves wishing we could travel back, even for a minute, just to feel that happiness again.
These moments are what I call my happy place.
People often say that the past is gone and that we cannot relive what has already happened. Perhaps that is true, but I have always wondered: what if we could preserve a little piece of those moments? What if, even when time has moved on and people or places have changed, we could still return to the feeling they gave us?
This is where fine art photography becomes special to me. It gives me a way to hold on to what time would otherwise take away. Through an image, I can preserve the quiet beauty of a place, the presence of someone we love, or the traces of a life that once filled a room. The photograph becomes more than pixels on a screen. With its story, it becomes a doorway into a memory, allowing us to pause and feel connected to a moment that might otherwise have faded.
Perhaps this is why I am drawn to places that have been abandoned or overlooked. Even when people leave, something of them remains. A chair, a window, a faded wall or an object left behind can tell a story of presence, belonging and absence.
For me, photography is not simply about capturing what I see. It is about giving memories somewhere to live. If forever is impossible in time, perhaps we can create a little of it through the moments we choose to preserve.
